Emil and Calean didn’t really want a wedding in the first place, but since Calean is the eldest in her family, their family wanted to be a part of their special day, so Calean and Emil decided to keep their wedding day very intimate, with only their immediate family and friends. They started the day off with a first look near the hotel they were getting ready.
The first look
Emil’s joy was undeniable and he could not wipe the smile off his face once he saw Calean. Calean looked as though she felt instantly at ease once she was with Emil. Leading up to their day had been quite hectic with both their families having trouble with cancelled flights before arriving into Melbourne. Their family watched from the side-lines, excited to witness to special moment between the two of them.

We then walked 5 minutes to Fitzroy gardens for some portraits of them together before they got married. Emil is a master of making Calean laugh, so it made our jobs easy. They cuddled close together on that cold Melbourne city day, while Emil eased Calean’s nerves.

Their intimate ceremony took place on a rainy day overlooking the Melbourne city skyline. They had some champagne ready to celebrate the moment with their closest loved ones. Their wedding sign board featured an inside joke between Emil and Calean about when they first met, which they revealed later on to their loved ones during their intimate dinner together.
Throughout Emil and Calean’s intimate wedding day, one thing we noticed about them was clear. They were always in their own little world together, and I think this photo just explains who they are as a couple. No matter what was going on around them, whether there was chaos or rain, they found their own place where they could always be happy and safe together. You could really tell that they are each others best friend because their interactions with each other are always playful and full of joy.
A private moment together
After everyone left for the reception, we made sure to let Emil and Calean have a moment alone together to let the moment sink in. They sat together on a park bench and started dancing to music together. Truly these two know how to have fun with just them two.

We encouraged them to spend a moment and have a private slow dance together too. We truly believe that you should create moments like this on your wedding day, moments to just be alone together and let everything sink in.
