Monika and Kristian’s Wedding day was one full of love, celebration, and Croatian traditions. What I remember the most about their day is how they had music playing at all times. When I arrived in their neighbourhood, there was no mistaking where the celebrations were going to be that morning because you could hear it all the way down the street. Part of Croatian tradition was that Kristian would come by and pick up Monika along with flares, drinks, and dancing.
Everyone was waiting in anticipation for Kristian’s arrival. The Croatian tradition of the groom coming to pick up the bride is called “Cijela”. Kristian arrived in style with flares, blasting music, and a traditional Croatian flask to drink and celebrate with his groomsmen. The music and dancing did not stop there, as they continued to dance and drink on the way to the church. It was a joyous and lively atmosphere, and it was clear that everyone was ready to celebrate Monika and Kristian’s love. The anticipation and excitement continued to build until Monika made her grand entrance at the Croatian church for their wedding ceremony venue.
The Ceremony at a Croatian Catholic Church
Monika and Kristian’s ceremony took place at a beautiful Croatian Catholic Church, filled with family and friends who travelled from near and far to witness their union. The church was adorned with stunning floral arrangements. After the ceremony, as Monika and Kristian exited the church, they were met with a lively crowd of family and friends who had gathered outside. The couple was immediately embraced by cheers and applause, and to add to the celebratory atmosphere, a traditional Croatian band began to play music on the street.
As Monika and Kristian made their way to their wedding car, they danced and laughed with their guests, and the music continued to play, creating a joyous and unforgettable moment. The wedding guests then made their way to the reception venue, the stunning Carousel Albert Park, where the party was just getting started.
