When Nick and Kate reached out to us about their engagement session, they were visiting Melbourne from New Zealand for just a few days. It was a last-minute request, but we were excited to meet them and capture their story. With their love for art and music, they seemed like the perfect couple to explore one of Melbourne’s most serene spots—Fitzroy Gardens, a perfect place for an engagement session.

On the morning of their shoot, Fitzroy Gardens provided the perfect backdrop for their engagement photos. The lush greenery, towering trees, and peaceful atmosphere created a sense of calm that perfectly matched Nick and Kate’s relaxed vibe.

We focused on capturing them in a way that made them feel comfortable, with plenty of natural moments, whether they were walking hand in hand through the gardens or laughing over a shared joke, the moments felt genuine, and the connection between them was unmistakable.

The peaceful greenery of Fitzroy Gardens made it easy to take relaxed and natural shots. And while the gardens provided a sense of tranquility, the surrounding urban elements added just enough contrast to give the session a modern touch. We snapped a few photos near the iconic conservatory and among the pathways that wove through the park, using the vibrant foliage as a backdrop. The combination of nature and city felt like the perfect reflection of Nick and Kate’s balance between their love of art, music, and the outdoors. The session felt less like work and more like spending time with old friends, and it reminded us just how special it is to capture these moments of connection.

For Nick and Kate, the day was about creating a few keepsake moments to remember their time in Melbourne, and Fitzroy Gardens offered the perfect backdrop for just that. Their love for the simple things in life—art, music, and each other—shone through in every photo, and we were so honored to be part of their journey.
