Neyda & Orlando’s Traditional Yet Laid-Back Celebration

On a rainy day in Melbourne, Neyda and Orlando’s wedding at the breathtaking St Mary’s Star of the Sea was a beautiful mix of tradition, family, and personal touches that truly reflected their journey together. Rain may have graced their day, just as it did during their engagement session with us, but for this couple, the weather only added to the charm of their story—a day filled with warmth, love, and the joy of starting a new chapter together.

A Church Ceremony Full of Family & Tradition at St Mary’s Star of the Sea

Neyda and Orlando had known each other since they were 18, growing up together and building a strong, familiar bond that was so evident in the way they celebrated their day. The grandness of St Mary’s Star of the Sea, with its stunning high ceilings and intricate details, provided the perfect backdrop for their traditional church ceremony. It was a fitting start to a new life, as they had just moved into their newly renovated home the night before. Everything about the day signified new beginnings for this couple.

Inside the church, the mood was serene, peaceful, and elegant. Family was at the heart of their wedding, and you could feel the deep sense of connection between them and their loved ones. The architecture of the church added a sense of grandeur that complemented the intimate moments shared between the couple and their guests. Despite the rain, the warmth of their connection and the love that filled the room made the day feel bright.

A Reception Full of Personality

After the ceremony, Neyda and Orlando opted for a celebration that felt uniquely them. One of the most memorable parts of their reception was the spaghetti show—an unexpected and personal twist that replaced the traditional cake cutting. Instead, they shared a fresh pasta dish served from a giant wheel of cheese, which was a fun and delicious highlight of the evening. It’s moments like these that make weddings so special, where couples infuse their personalities into the day.

Surrounded by friends and family, they shared laughter, great food, and a relaxed atmosphere. They had intentionally left plenty of time to savor every moment, hanging out with their bridal party, enjoying champagne, and even sneaking in some donuts before the formalities began. The couple wasn’t fussed by the rain or any small details—they were simply focused on enjoying the day as it unfolded.

The Perfect Ending to a Beautiful Day

Neyda and Orlando’s wedding was a beautiful example of how tradition and personal touches can come together to create a memorable celebration. Their love story, built over the years, was highlighted in every detail of the day, from the church ceremony to the fun and laid-back reception. St Mary’s Star of the Sea provided a stunning, timeless setting, while Neyda and Orlando filled it with the warmth of their love, family, and those special moments that made the day theirs.
